My family and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and had a great time! There was something to do for the wide age range we had, we used the crab trap off the dock, went kayaking in the mornings and into town for ice cream and doughnuts in the evening. Southport isnt far away for a quick getaway for more seafood restraunts. The pool was just big enough for us and a great amenity to keep the kids busy in between doing other things.

It is obvious that this listing highlights the home’s boat access (dock/lift). However, nothing clarifies that the boat access is partial. The small channel which this house lies upon is inaccessible for a large portion of each day. Most canal homes at NC beaches are accessible by boat 24/7, regardless of tide. I was partially let-down. In my opinion, there should be a disclaimer stating something to the effect of, “boat access only available during part of the day (high tide +/- 2hrs)”. It is only fair to be forthright, considering the boat access was advertised as a selling point. Other than that, the home was satisfactory. I feel that it met or slightly exceeded the minimum standards for the given price point ($6,000 for 5 nights).
