Breathe the salty ocean air on the covered porch and sundeck at this snowbird-friendly, dune cottage - perfect for your next getaway! The light and bright open layout is great for families with a welcoming living room and full kitchen. The first floor has one bedroom with a king bed. The living room has a sleeper sofa. The second floor has two bedrooms with a queen bed & a full bed in the first bedroom and a full bed & 2 single bunk bed sets in the second bedroom. Amenities include a washer/dryer, mini-split system for heating and air, cable TV, DVD player, dishwasher, and microwave. An outdoor shower rounds out this home's exterior perks. THINGS TO KNOW

We had a wonderful stay at Robert’s Retreat in Holden Beach. It accommodated our family of 6 very comfortably. The house had everything you need for a nice quiet & convenient week at our favorite beach. For starts, the lower open 2 bay garage area provided great shade and extra space for our bicycles, beach chairs & fishing rods. Plenary of space for our large family bc we tend to travel with “more than we need :-) “. The outdoor shower was very handy and a water hose that came in very handy! The home was spacious w plenty of rooms and beds. It had a very quant and AT HOME feeling. The beach cottage/home was stocked perfectly w necessities for the kitchen, bedrooms and baths (great water pressure which is a HUGE PLUS w 5 females staying). Great AC split units assisted by ceiling fans……All Perfect after a hot day on the beach. The neighborhood provided a safe, friendly and was located in a perfect location bc it was close enough in walking distance to the beach yet far enough off the main strip that you felt safe playing out in the driveway without worrying about passing traffic. The only traffic was neighbors of Sand Piper Lane. Idol for a family w kids of all ages. Oh yeah….and the front porches on the main level and upper level provided great relief from the sun during the day & a relaxing place to chill out in the evenings to feel the perfect breeze and wind down from a day in the sun. All in all I’d give the stay a 5 star review bc we don’t expect a perfect brand new beach home for the price we paid. So if your like we are and are not looking to nit pick a place apart bc it isn’t “Pottery Barn at the beach” then you’ll appreciate this home for all I’ve described and the price rather than getting all worked up over the home not having a perfectly brand new appearance. We would stay there again in a heartbeat and probably will. I could say it needed this and that but then it would be double the price which would be extremely tough for a large family trying to stay on reasonable budget. Couldn’t ask for a better stay. Holden beach is tranquil and safe.A suggestion…..take bicycles like we did or rent them so you can really enjoy what this perfect chillaxing low key beach and all it has to offer for all ages!

Beautiful vintage beach home within walking distance to the beach! We loved all the seating in the living room! The outside seating was wonderful because there was never any direct sun and always a great breeze! 100% recommend staying there if you don't mind something older, but feels like home.

We loved our stay and the vintage beach house feel this home provides! It is super roomy and unlike most homes has so many places to sit and relax as a family in the living room. Another plus, was the deck never has direct sun, but always has a nice breeze so we could stay out there anytime of the day.

Great location, perfectly situated between the intracoastal and the ocean...

Nice house, needs a little TLC, a mix up with some plumbing issues that were supposed to be fixed before we arrived but they got it done while we were there only hindered our stay a little as the plumber showed up 2 hours later then expected. Plenty of room, the kitchen had everything we needed.

Yearly Trip

We’ve been visiting yearly for the last 7 or 8 years. Each year something has been updated. One year a bathroom, one year new Mini split A/C’s in each room and this year new flooring and some new furniture. My family loves it there!!

Home away from Home

The entire house was very clean and well maintained. There was a minor problem with the dishwasher and they replaced it. Could not not have asked for a better experience!

Excellent Vacation

This was exactly as described in the listing and in most reviews. The place was nice and there is a large amount of sitting room. Would definitely rent again.

I am so happy with our choice! After many years of sports, school activities and life, this was our 1st family vacation ( our children are 29, 27, 26, and 22). The walk to the beach was not too bad, although I would have liked an ocean view, the location was great. Plenty of room and the AC was great and quiet. I would definitely return to Holden Beach for the peaceful, uncrowded area. We also witnessed the turtle areas that were ripped off on the beach which was really cool. We did experience a ceiling leak on the day before our departure. I notified Vacasa and someone was there to check it out within the hour. Make sure to get your Italian ice and refill your Koozie all week.

Great place for a great price

Each room having its own AC was a huge plus. The house had some wear and tear but nothing major. I would definitely stay here again. Gloria with Vacasa was very helpful throughout our entire stay.

Great Stay

Great place to stay. My family has stayed in this home multiple times over the past number of years. Every time we’ve stayed there has been a new upgrade made when we return. It’s obvious the owners are committed to improving the property. It’s a nice clean home that sits back about three blocks back. Easy walk to the beach, I’d say 5 minutes or less. I think it’s a great value. My family loves it there and we’ll definitely be back!

It’s obvious the owners are committed to improving the property. It’s a nice clean home that sits back about three blocks back. Easy walk to the beach, I’d say 5 minutes or less.
