Our family of 7 spent 5 days at this lovely home directly on the beach. The house its self is really nice, beachy and plenty large enough for our purposes. (Mainly sleeping since we were either at the beach or exploring town) The convenience to the beach was exceptional. We were easily able to go back and forth several times per day. Even forgetting and item and having to go back was no big deal! That's a huge bonus when you have a bunch of kids. We were absolutely tickled to find that just over the dune we had a turtle nest. We learned so much from the Turtle Patrol. We were able to witness a little guy make it to the ocean in the early morning hours. It was magical. We did miss the full boil (had a late dinner that night and the set up the runway without us knowing it was time) but it was quite dark anyhow, since the moon was hidden. The town was fantastic, extremely friendly and welcoming. Food lion was better price for groceries than Publix. We dined out every night and all the restaurants were delicious! Our eldest has a broken leg and the rec center helped us with a beach wheelchair (48h notice or more to book, and they said they are usually booked solid, so be sure to call before you go). We will absolutely be back next year. We feel that we have found our favorite low key, relaxing, family friendly vacation spot! Vacasa made it easy!

This rental was perfect for our family of 5! Our boys slept in the room with bunk beds, while our daughter had her own room, and my husband and I had the master suite with our own full bathroom. All the kitchen necessities were there, and the outdoor shower was perfect for cleaning off before heading back inside from the beach. Location was great, only minutes from groceries, restaurants, and the Ocean Education Center. Additionally, the large couch is comfy and roomy enough for family movie nights. The deck had many seating options and the views were pristine! The only things we would change are…. 1. They need blackout curtains in the kids/bunk bed room otherwise younger children will be up with the sunrise for better or worse. 2. We wish there was a lock on the master bathroom door. The sliding doors don’t allow for much privacy with younger children in the house.

Our family vacation at Turtle Time on Oak Island was better than we could have imagined! We were so thankful for the comfortable home and ideal location for beach and town activities! The home is just as you see in the listing photos but the sound of the waves and ocean breeze while you sit on the back porch made it better than we could have ever imagined. We hope to visit again very soon!

Turtle Time exceeded our expectations for our family vacation! The house was comfortable and located in a great spot for access to the ocean as well as activities with a short walk or drive. We were thankful for the well-stocked kitchen supplies so we could make some easy meals at home after time on the beach. Thank you for a beautiful stay! We can't wait to return!

We loved the warm, simple, nostalgic feeling of a Carolina beach house that this rental provided. The kitchen renovation was a nice feature. Bathrooms are small but nice amenities in the master bath. The access to the beach was the best part of our stay. Wish we could have stayed a few days longer and probably will the next time we're in the area. Rental was very well stocked. Only one small suggestion - the length of the code and the nuances of the door key pad made it very difficult to enter the house. The keypad kept malfunctioning. That in combination with the long code made it frustrating. But other than that our stay was wonderful.

First time to Oak Island and this home was perfect for my family. My 2 daughters, their husbands and my granddaughter came to stay with my wife and l. The location was perfect for us. I have a bad knee so instead of walking through the soft sand I visited the beach via the handicap beach access just 2 houses down. The home has everything we needed and more. The furniture was very nice and the bedding comfortable. The back porch is large and we hung out there a lot eating meals, relaxing and looking out over the ocean. Thanks for allowing us to stay at Turtle Time!! We look forward to returning soon!! Scott and Family.

The house was wonderful. It was very clean. The wood work was appealing. Access to the beach wasn't difficult. The dunes have to be there for beach preservation. We will return.

We’ve been vacationing at NC beaches for 3 decades and this was our first opportunity to stay beachfront. The cottage was a perfect blend of classic (original wood details, simple layout) but nicely updated kitchen and bathrooms. The A/C was out the night we arrived (seems like an ongoing problem based on past reviews) but since it was October we opened the windows for a lovely breeze. A repair tech came out first thing in the morning and it was fixed by 11am. So many great things are walkable (coffee, restaurants, playgrounds) and of course being able to walk off the deck and just a few steps to the beach was amazing. It cooled off our last evening there and we looked forward to using the fireplace on the porch but the ignition was broken so that was a bit disappointing. Otherwise we would definitely rent again and look forward to bringing our kids back in the summer.

I have been coming to Oak Island and Holden Beach for years now, and this is easily the loveliest place I'd stayed at. There were little things here and there that could be fixed, but all in all, the house was great beautiful, right on the beach, close to the grocery stores. Definitely a favorite.

We loved everything about our stay. The house was great and very clean. Everything we needed was provided. Stores and restaurants were close by. The deck was great with an amazing view and the ocean was just a short walk up the dunes. We definitely didn’t want to leave!!!

Such a great beach place! It was perfect for our family. It was super clean, easy ocean access, the deck is new, furniture is nice and beds comfortable! Recommend to anyone unless you need a new/gourmet kitchen. I’m already looking at when we can go back and rent Turtle Time again!

Great Location for Oak Island. Right on beach with great views of the ocean. Everything was clean. New sofa, dishes, glasses. Everything you should need for cooking. The grill needs to be cleaned desperately. Full of grease which ignites easily so be careful. Propane was empty for outdoor fire pit. Was told to refill it and was reimbursed. Beds could stand for an upgrade as well as bathrooms but was functional. TVs worked. We had a great time at the beach.
