Great place and location to stay with your family! It’s obviously an older home but very well kept and clean upon arrival. We stayed two houses down last summer and that home was very recently remodeled with modern appliances, layouts etc. We enjoyed our stay at the Shem Cottage much more it just feels more like home to us. Will definitely stay again if available

The charming, well furnished cottage with homey photos of several generations of family at the beach, made us feel welcome. There is a beautiful view of the beach from inside and there is a small deck from which you can see both the ocean for sunrises and the marsh side for sunsets. A very comfortable spot on a quiet beach.

This house was incredibly comfortable for our family of four including two kids (9 and 7) and my parents. The house had even more outdoor space than we expected and the pool lives up to my kids’ high expectations and then some! This is our fourth trip to this particular rental. It is a family favorite. It is a little further back but we love the view of the intercoastal waterway. Our family loves the pool as well as the comfortable layout of the home. The basement is a great transition area and the full bath and extra refrigerator are great for a family with kids. (Keep the wet swimsuits outside and downstairs). Definitely a great space for a vacation!

We stayed April -may 4 for our daughters 4 th birthday. We love the house and the beach. Holden beach is family friendly and the house had an amazing view. It is an older cottage with wood panels and kinda small but thats what we loved about it’s. Felt cozy and welcoming. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook. Steps from the ocean. We were worried since the porch is on the front of the house instead of beach side the view wasn’t gonna be good but it to the sides and gives you a perfect view of the beach. House was kid friendly and had toys and games for everyone. Loved this house and would stay again in the future.

This cottage is perfectly located! The oceanfront allowed our kids to swim, hunt for seashells and shark teeth, star gaze, fish and crab hunt. The cottage had everything we needed. Our family adored our stay.

This is the third time we have stayed at this home at Holden Beach. It is a beautiful home with plenty of space for the family to spread out and an awesome pool for the family to enjoy. We love the basement space that serves as a great "base camp" for pool days and beach visits. It is a great space to unload the gear after a trip to the beach or to clean up and shower after playing at the pool. The basement also has an extra fridge to store sodas and water bottles. It's a great home to host your great vacation!

This lovely house had all the extras including location, lovely rooms, fully stocked kitchen, lovely pool and landscaping, and table tennis and bikes. We will definitely rent this house from Vacasa again.

This cottage is ON (front row!) a fantastic stretch of beach with amazing views from the living room, and the deck (even though it's on the back of the house it has a great line of sight to the beach). There was plenty there by way of amenities to meet our needs for the week from the kitchen, to the outdoor gear, washer/dryer, etc. The exterior shower/cleaning stations weren't working but Vacasa was on it and had a solution sorted out within 24 hours. The town is close (groceries and restaurants within a 10 minute drive) and has enough to meet any daily need. Walmart and more restaurants are less than 20 minutes away. Two little things I would point out to avoid disappointment: 1 - the bathrooms are very tight spaces (no knee or elbow room if you know what I mean) and 2 - there is no covered exterior space (except right under the house) so when it rains or if your tired of the sun the only option is to head inside, but the views are great there so it's not so bad. For us 10 out of 10, would stay again.

Check in was a breeze, home was clean and we loved the views from the living room windows. The porch on the front of the home has rockers but no table. We loved the refrig style!! It adds to the classic beach vibe this house gives. We loved our stay and will plan on staying again!!!

We absolutely loved our stay this past week. The location cannot be beat. We found beautiful shells and sharks teeth, and food lion/shops were very convenient.

This house is more formally furnished than most beach houses, but still very comfortable. The pool is great - especially on those super hot days!

Shem Cottage was the perfect beachfront place for our group of 4 adults and 3 toddlers. We loved the ocean views from the living room and being so close. The house has everything you need. Beds are comfortable and kitchen is well stocked. We’ll definitely be back!

This home is absolutely beautiful! Plenty of room for our family. We love the pool and finished basement with bathroom/shower changing area. The ICW views are beautiful from the double porch out front. One of favorite vacation homes ever!

This oceanfront house was perfect for our little family`s winter getaway. The beach access is ideal. We loved watching the sunrise and the sunset, right from the living room. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. We hope to return in the warmer months!
