OIB34 OIB Isle Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at OIB Isle Retreat over Memorial Day weekend! The location couldn’t be better—just a short five-minute walk up the boardwalk and you’re on the beach. While the balcony doesn’t offer a direct ocean view, you can still hear the waves, which adds a lovely touch of beachside charm. The space itself is clean, cozy, and clearly loved. The furniture is a mix of older and thrifted pieces, which honestly adds to the relaxed, nostalgic feel of a true beach vacation. Everything was well-kept and spotless—no musty smells or pet hair like we’ve encountered at other rentals. It’s clear that the owners and Vacasa take pride in keeping it clean and guest-ready. The kitchen had everything we needed for quick breakfasts and light dinners, and the dining table made the perfect spot for family board games before bed. Appliances are all updated stainless steel, and the in-unit washer/dryer combo was a great convenience for a beach trip. Beds are on the firm side, but comfortable, and our child especially loved having a smart TV in his bedroom! Vacasa was very communicative throughout our stay—we felt supported without being overwhelmed. Check-in was seamless, and we had no issues with parking (there’s a small lot next to the building that always had space). A few tips for future guests: the walk to the beach is easy but not very cart-friendly, so be prepared to carry your gear. The space does show some signs of wear (scuffed paint, minor dings), but everything was in good working order and, again, extremely clean. You’ll want to plan a quick grocery trip if you’re staying for more than a few days, as starter supplies (trash bags, dish soap, TP) are provided in limited quantities. We’d absolutely stay here again—especially for the beach access and overall ease. It’s ideal for small families, couples, or anyone who just wants to hang out by the ocean. For local eats, we recommend The Purple Onion in Shallotte and Spilt Milk for a sweet treat nearby.

The ease of getting to the beach was fantastic. Just steps to gorgeous sunrises! So nice to have the deck sliding door open and hear the ocean. Loved walking the beach every day with our dog. Spectacular sunsets nearby at Jink’s Creek. We had a great 3 + week stay and enjoyed Ocean Isle and the surrounding area. Great golf courses and restaurants nearby.

The area is gorgeous, clean and relaxing. The neighbor upstairs has been so friendly both years we have been there. We cannot wait to come back next year!

Great condo with plenty of room and a view. The condo was clean, comfortably furnished, and nicely stocked with complimentary soaps, etc. and plenty of towels (much appreciated). Great communication, booking, and check -in/check-out with Vacasa which included several messages from Vacasa making sure all was well. Thank you for a great stay!

This condo turned out to be a perfect location within walking distance of a wedding venue. We could reach the location within five minutes either via the beach or sidewalk. The condo was furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, was very clean upon arrival, and offered a view of the ocean from its porch as well as quick access to the beach. The Vacasa staff sent texts and emails to check in with us and make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We did not have to contact them about any concerns but appreciated receiving the follow up.

Our recent VRBO condo rental offered an exceptional spring break experience, perfect for a family gathering that spanned generations. The management was notably accommodating, facilitating a seamless stay even when unexpected medical issues prevented my attendance. What set this condo apart was its peaceful ambiance, set against a picturesque beach backdrop, complete with a charming pool area. It provided a serene retreat from the typical spring break party scene, aligning with our desire for a setting suitable for all ages—from my high schooler and soon to graduate college student, sister to and 75 year old mother who stepped in to oversee the stay— all asking when can we schedule the next stay there to visit Uncle Charlie who lives nearby who had his place at capacity because it's a lovely area. It was a breath of fresh air hearing their trip couldn't have been better. The few questions we had were resolved in one quick call - where could they find the beach and pool codes? Quick response - on the corkboard for future reference and told me the codes. Zero delays. Thanks!

Upon walking in to this condo, we were thrilled with the immaculately clean conditions. It was perfect for our family of four. TVs in both bedrooms was great as it gave us opportunities to have privacy. It was a very enjoyable stay. Check-in and check out were super easy and communication was phenomenal. We would absolutely stay here again.

From the simple parking and check in procedures to the friendly atmosphere around the apartment/condo complex, arriving at the Place at the Beach was amazing. The interior is immaculate, queen bed, twin beds, multiple TVs, clean and fresh linen, upscale appliances, full kitchen with dishes and bathrooms stocked with cleaning supplies and TP. It was the perfect stay and a true home away from home during our stay over Christmas. Will come back for sure!!

I have never been to the Ocean so it was great , we were going to bring our small dog , but left him home with a good friend . My brother lives near by too . The best part was meeting the cat with the name tag THANK YOU , it followed us all around so it made it easier for us because we left our pet home , we had our anniversary Dec 12th 53 years ! Great trip for us John & Janet
