This elevated three-bedroom, two-bath home is designed for today’s travelers who want bright, open gathering spaces and easy indoor-outdoor living. The airy open floor plan connects the kitchen, dining, and living areas into one welcoming hub — perfect for group trips, family stays, and extended beach getaways. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prep everything from quick beach snacks to full coastal dinners.
The newest highlight is the backyard hangout space — Enjoy your evenings around the fire pit with six chairs, unwind on the swings, and cook outdoors on the charcoal grill. It’s an ideal setup for post-beach dinners, cool-weather stays, and memory-making nights under the stars. After a day on the sand, the enclosed outdoor shower makes cleanup quick and easy.
Thanks to recent beach nourishment and shoreline improvements, guests can enjoy wider, more beautiful beaches just minutes away from the home — an easy walk or short drive with paid parking — plus Oak Island’s rare south-facing shoreline offers views of both sunrise and sunset from the same stretch of sand.
Boaters and anglers will appreciate being under a mile from the 55th Street public boat ramp with trailer parking and direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway.

Beautiful property and the host was extremely accommodating! Great location, only a few minutes walk from the beach. And our pup was allowed to join us for the trip!

This was our second stay at the SaltySwan, and it was just as perfect as the first. The gate at the top of the stairs remains our favorite thoughtful touch, and we noticed even more toys and board games for the kids this time. The décor is still beautiful, with a few new pieces that keep the theme while making it feel even more like home. We’ve decided this will be our family’s go-to summer vacation spot. We also loved following their Instagram page for ideas on things to do and places to eat. It made it much easier to plan with a large family.

Our stay at the Salty Swan was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home—and so did our pups! It’s not easy to find a truly dog-friendly place that’s also this clean, stylish, and comfortable, but this one checks every box. The location is unbeatable. Just a 10-minute walk to the beach—or you can rent a golf cart for an extra dose of fun and convenience (which we totally recommend!). The beach itself is peaceful and not overcrowded, perfect for morning strolls and sunrise/sunset views. The home had everything we needed and more: cozy beds, stocked kitchen, plenty of space to relax, and thoughtful touches throughout. The host/vacasa made everything easy from start to finish. We loved how close it is to some amazing local spots—KoKo Cabana quickly became our go-to for oceanfront dining, and we couldn’t resist daily visits to Lil & John’s Ice Cream (trust me, try the Cookie Monster flavor!). And the charming town of Southport is just a 15-min car ride away for shopping, history, and waterfront vibes. Can’t wait to come back!

Very clean and very new home was great for a short stay. Home has everything we needed for a family 4. Centrally located and easy to get to restaurants and the beach (Walkable but not recommended). Would absolutely stay here again. Loved the house!

Our experience was excellent all around. As an example, Vacasa staff personally came to our home to make sure our stay was going well not once but twice to assist with a small issue even after I advised it wasn’t necessary. Above and beyond service seems to be the normal procedure with Vacasa. Thank you for a great week at Oak Island.

Very pretty home. Very clean and comfortable. Vacation was cut short by Tropical Storm Debby, but would return to the home if the opportunity arose again. Front door lock is very difficult and frustrating to use. Took several tries. I would suggest replacing it.

We were particularly impressed with the thoughtful touches, such as the permanent retractable gate at the top of the stairs and an extra gate found in one of the bedrooms. Booking and check-in were seamless and hassle-free. The house's prime location, just a short distance from the beach, made it convenient to access local restaurants, family-friendly activities, and shopping venues. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the SaltySwan and are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!
