We absolutely loved our stay at Shem Cottage! The home was cozy, welcoming, and beautifully decorated - every detail made it feel like a peaceful retreat. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need (and more!), which made meals so easy. The views were simply breathtaking, and we loved the quiet, private location right on the beach. It was perfect for our family with three young kids, giving us the space to relax and enjoy the shore without the crowds. We can’t wait to come back!

We fully enjoyed our stay at the Shem Cottage. The views from the house were spectacular and the kitchen came well stocked with decent cookware, french press, even a slow cooker. It was our first time in Holden Beach and I loved the quiet vibe of this place.

Great place and location to stay with your family! It’s obviously an older home but very well kept and clean upon arrival. We stayed two houses down last summer and that home was very recently remodeled with modern appliances, layouts etc. We enjoyed our stay at the Shem Cottage much more it just feels more like home to us. Will definitely stay again if available

The charming, well furnished cottage with homey photos of several generations of family at the beach, made us feel welcome. There is a beautiful view of the beach from inside and there is a small deck from which you can see both the ocean for sunrises and the marsh side for sunsets. A very comfortable spot on a quiet beach.

We visited in early April and the weather was ideal. We golf twice, ate in for 3 dinners and ate out a couple of times too making for a balance of cost and reward. Would definitely stay here again if it is available. Good communication with the owner.

We stayed April -may 4 for our daughters 4 th birthday. We love the house and the beach. Holden beach is family friendly and the house had an amazing view. It is an older cottage with wood panels and kinda small but thats what we loved about it’s. Felt cozy and welcoming. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook. Steps from the ocean. We were worried since the porch is on the front of the house instead of beach side the view wasn’t gonna be good but it to the sides and gives you a perfect view of the beach. House was kid friendly and had toys and games for everyone. Loved this house and would stay again in the future.

This house has a lot to offer especially with someone with disabilities such easy access to the beach and not so far to walk the house is a very cute little place very homey every house has a special thing about it this house has a lot to offer and it had great views of the beach the deck was amazing I will definitely be

Shem Cottage is as close to the beach as you can get. The windows across the front put you right there. We loved watching the dolphins jumping. Very clean and well stocked. Not fancy but perfect for our girl’s weekend. Will return!

My family and I absolutely adored the rustic charm of Shem Cottage! Also it was such a short walk to the beach and that made it nice! It was perfect for us and our 3 kids. We will definitely book here again.

We loved the age of the house and charm that comes w/the old beach houses representative of simpler times when a 'mansion' was unthinkable on the beach! The beach was a place for fun and sun and family vacations and memories. No one LIVED on the beach! The house is small and cozy with lovely views. The beds were comfortable; linens nice and crisp; and the kitchen had everything. A perfect spot on the beach front!

This cottage is perfectly located! The oceanfront allowed our kids to swim, hunt for seashells and shark teeth, star gaze, fish and crab hunt. The cottage had everything we needed. Our family adored our stay.

SHEM Cottage was a wonderful beachfront getaway. This section of beach is low traffic yet still close to the bridge. Just steps from your morning coffee to the sand and shore, so nice. There was plenty of space for our group of 7 and the downstairs laundry and storage made up for having "just enough" space in the living area. The kitchen is well stocked and surprisingly useful even though it looks small. The views from the living area are amazing and the sound of the waves just outside is life giving. SHEM cottage is at ty top of our list for our next visit to Holden Beach.

The perfect little cottage for our family of 5. It was cozy and clean. The views are incredible! You cannot beat the convenience of being directly on the beach. My husband surf fished every day and the kids and I swam and hunted for shells and sharks teeth. Best vacation ever!
